To our clients:
With the rapidly changing challenges brought about by the Coronavirus we are taking every step to ensure that our patients and team are protected. I ask you to please read the following:
● Clients with Symptoms:
In the event that a client or family member has symptoms related to those associated with the Coronavirus (cough, shortness of breath, fever) we ask you to not come by our office. Please contact us so that we may postpone your next visit to an appropriate time. If your hearing aid needs repair, please have a healthy person drop it off.
● Extra Family Members at Appointments:
As a temporary measure, we ask that only patients enter the office, with the exception of children or others with special care needs. We ask that additional family members wait outside the office. Please respect our office policy of “by appointment only”, as we will not be accepting walk-in clients. By following the above procedures this will limit the number of people to less than 10 in the office at any time.
● Ongoing Schedule and Appointments:
We will continue with normal business hours for the time being. Normal business hours could change based on the situation and progress in our community. If you would like to reschedule an appointment, please contact us at your earliest convenience. We ask that our clients only arrive at their scheduled appointment time, or wait in their vehicles until the scheduled time to reduce the number of people in the clinic.
● Temporary Reception Room Changes:
We will be removing communal items that may be touched by multiple people throughout the day such as books, magazines, and toys. Please maintain 6 feet between non-household people also waiting.
● Measures We Are Taking:
We are staying current with provincial and national guidelines and updates:
1. Our facility is cleaned and disinfected throughout the day.
2. We are doing disinfectant wipe-downs to commonly touched areas between patients.
3. Plexiglass has been installed at the reception desk.
4. Screening questions will be asked when appointment confirmation calls are completed and for those displaying symptoms or those who share a home with someone displaying symptoms, appointments will be rescheduled until an appropriate time.
5. Temperatures of all staff will be taken, once in the morning and once in the afternoon, with our results posted in an effort to provide complete transparency about our health. The temperatures of clients will be taken as well upon entry to the clinic to ensure our mutual protection.
6. Whenever possible, we will maintain a 6-foot distance between clinician and patient. When not possible, we will be using a mask and goggles as per the Saskatchewan Ministry of Health regulations.
7. We will be hand washing for 20 seconds between patients and ask that you do the same when you arrive at the office.
8. We will be diffusing Young Living Thieves essential oil into the air because it is said to have air-purifying properties, and while this is not a Health Canada sanctioned practice, we figure it can’t hurt. Thieves essential oil is approved by Health Canada as a natural health product that helps to relieve cough and colds. Thieves Hand Sanitizer is also approved by Health Canada as 99% effective in killing germs.
In closing, the safe care of our clients is of the utmost importance. All of us are surely hopeful that the Coronavirus event will pass soon
